The reusable booster, designated B1062 in SpaceX\u2019s inventory, landed on the football field-sized drone ship less than 10 minutes after liftoff Sept. 15 from Kennedy, while the Falcon 9\u2019s expendable upper stage continued into orbit with the Inspiration4 mission.<\/p>\n<p>The four-person Inspiration4 crew spent three days in orbit on SpaceX\u2019s Crew Dragon Resilience spacecraft before re-entering the atmosphere and safely splashing down in the Atlantic on Sept. 18.<\/p>\n<p>The Inspiration4 mission was the first privately-funded, non-government human spaceflight to low Earth orbit.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_53439\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-53439\" style=\"width: 1200px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-53439\" src=\"http:\/\/spaceflightnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/b1062_vert.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"819\" srcset=\"https:\/\/spaceflightnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/b1062_vert.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/spaceflightnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/b1062_vert-300x205.jpg 300w, https:\/\/spaceflightnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/b1062_vert-678x463.jpg 678w, https:\/\/spaceflightnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/b1062_vert-768x524.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-53439\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">SpaceX\u2019s Falcon 9 booster from the Inspiration4 mission stands at Port Canaveral on Sunday after returning from the landing zone in the Atlantic Ocean.
