L3Harris, in collaboration with Lockheed Martin, has been working closely with WZE to stand up in-country missile component production for Poland\u2019s Wisla air defense system.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cL3Harris is committed to increasing capacity for critical munitions that protect our country and our allies,\u201d said <strong>Scott Alexander<\/strong><strong>, President, Missile Propulsion, Missile Solutions, L3Harris<\/strong>. \u201cThis important milestone with WZE demonstrates key progress in diversifying our missile propulsion supply base while ensuring our global allies are equipped with critical defense technology.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"widget-layout related-content-also-read-box my-3\">\n<h4 class=\"mb-0\">Also Read: What are Propulsion Systems?<\/h4>\n<\/div>\n<p>The purchase order follows installation of specialized equipment at a new WZE production facility in Zielonka, Poland, and extensive U.S.-based training at L3Harris\u2019 solid rocket motor production campus in Camden, Arkansas. WZE has also successfully completed a Production Readiness Review, Manufacturing Readiness Review and Production Line Verification, paving the way for WZE to begin low-rate initial production in the near future.<\/p>\n<p>The PAC-3 missile is a mobile, high-velocity interceptor with long-range, medium to high-altitude, all-weather capabilities that uses hit-to-kill technology to intercept a variety of incoming threats, such as tactical ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and aircraft. Each PAC-3 interceptor contains 180 ACMs. The egg-sized motors fire to refine the missile\u2019s course and ensure body-to-body impact.
