{"id":14986,"date":"2016-12-20T22:47:47","date_gmt":"2016-12-20T14:47:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wp-productionenv-bjg9h2g2bgg5b8aa.southeastasia-01.azurewebsites.net\/news\/photos-ariane-5s-journey-to-the-launch-pad\/"},"modified":"2016-12-20T22:47:47","modified_gmt":"2016-12-20T14:47:47","slug":"photos-ariane-5s-journey-to-the-launch-pad","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/starpath.global\/news\/photos-ariane-5s-journey-to-the-launch-pad\/","title":{"rendered":"Photos: Ariane 5\u2019s journey to the launch pad"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Topped with Brazilian and Japanese television broadcasting satellites, an Ariane 5 rocket rolled out to its launch pad in French Guiana on Tuesday, a day before its scheduled blastoff on the way to geostationary transfer orbit.<\/p>\n<p>The 180-foot-tall (55-meter) rocket emerged from its final assembly building behind a diesel-powered Titan tug Tuesday morning for the 1.7-mile (2.7-kilometer), hour-long trip to the ELA-3 launch zone. The Ariane 5\u2019s mobile launch platform followed rails on the trek to the pad, and the rollout crew deftly positioned the launcher over the pad\u2019s flame duct.<\/p>\n<p>Technicians planned to fill the first stage\u2019s liquid helium tank after the rocket\u2019s arrival at the launch pad.
