{"id":16752,"date":"2014-12-16T17:52:37","date_gmt":"2014-12-16T09:52:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wp-productionenv-bjg9h2g2bgg5b8aa.southeastasia-01.azurewebsites.net\/news\/photos-soyuz-booster-rolls-out-to-french-guiana-launch-pad\/"},"modified":"2014-12-16T17:52:37","modified_gmt":"2014-12-16T09:52:37","slug":"photos-soyuz-booster-rolls-out-to-french-guiana-launch-pad","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/starpath.global\/news\/photos-soyuz-booster-rolls-out-to-french-guiana-launch-pad\/","title":{"rendered":"Photos: Soyuz booster rolls out to French Guiana launch pad"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Russian rocket technicians working in the French Guiana jungle transported a three-stage Soyuz booster to its launch pad Monday and erected it upright for liftoff Thursday with four communications satellites for O3b Networks, a company with aims to beam broadband Internet service to the developing world.<\/p>\n<p>The rocket rolled to the launch pad from a horizontal integration building riding on rail tracks while mounted on a specially-built transporter-erector system. Once the rocket completed the nearly half-mile rollout, the transporter-erector lifted the rocket vertical, then workers mounted the Soyuz to hold-down clamps suspended over the launch pad\u2019s flame trench.<\/p>\n<p>Later Monday, officials planned to transfer the mission\u2019s four satellite passengers and a Fregat-M upper stage from a clean room across the Guiana Space Center to the Soyuz launch facility.
