(HomeStreet Bank Photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Today Jimmy Shane took a little time off from his day job&nbsp;\u2014 building spaceships at Blue Origin&nbsp;\u2014 to bask in the glory surrounding his other claim to fame, as America\u2019s champion hydroplane driver.<\/p>\n<p>Shane was the center of attention at Seattle\u2019s Westlake Center during a noontime rally that featured a performance by the Seahawks\u2019 Blue Thunder drumline, burgers from Dick\u2019s Drive-In, and giveaways from Seattle-based HomeStreet Bank, the corporate sponsor for Shane\u2019s hydroplane team.<\/p>\n<p>Can you get any more Seattle-centric than that?<\/p>\n<p>The cause for celebration was last month\u2019s triumph of the Miss HomeStreet (a.k.a. Miss Madison Inc.) in the H1 Unlimited National Championship. The Miss HomeStreet thunderboat and hydroplane racing\u2019s Detroit Gold Cup were on prominent display during today\u2019s rally.<\/p>\n<p>HomeStreet Bank CEO Mark Mason, crew chief Dan Hoover, boat chief Cindy Shirley and other members of the crew got in on the festivities as well.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"Jimmy Shane about how his love for hydroplanes got him a job building rockets at Blue Origin\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/fUke4iReO0Q?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen=\"\" data-ratio=\"0.5625\" data-width=\"800\" data-height=\"450\" style=\"display: block; margin: 0px; width: 800px; height: 450px;\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe entire team worked tirelessly this season to bring the national title home to Seattle,\u201d Shane said in a statement issued before the rally.
