(Credit: Museum of Flight))<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>For almost 30 years, the International Space University has&nbsp;prepared fans of the final frontier for executive jobs at places like Blue Origin and Virgin Galactic. This October, for the first time, ISU is&nbsp;bringing its weeklong Executive Space Course to Seattle.<\/p>\n<p>The course is designed to give professionals in fields such as marketing, law and business management a quick grounding in the realities of the space business, touching upon science and technology as well as regulation&nbsp;and policy. It\u2019s a condensed version&nbsp;of the graduate-level programs that ISU offers at its main campus in Strasbourg, France.<\/p>\n<p>The Seattle program is due to run from Oct. 3 to 7 at the Museum of Flight, during World Space Week.&nbsp;The course will be taught by ISU faculty and guest lecturers, with an assist from Seattle-area universities and aerospace businesses.<\/p>\n<p>Today\u2019s announcement was timed to coincide with the Space Frontier Foundation\u2019s NewSpace 2016 conference in Seattle this week.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are excited to bring our Executive Space Course to Seattle, an emerging hub for commercial space ventures,\u201d the university\u2019s president, Walter Peeters, said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>Museum of Flight CEO Doug King said he was honored to host the&nbsp;Executive Space Course for the first time in North America.&nbsp;\u201cThis is an especially natural next step in Seattle\u2019s growing space industry, following on the heels of so many new space jobs, ventures and conferences here in town,\u201d King said.<\/p>\n<p>Ofer Lapid, a member of the university\u2019s board of trustees, told the crowd at NewSpace 2016 that the course\u2019s participants will be able to tap into a \u201cspace mafia\u201d comprising 4,000 alumni and faculty from ISU.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOnce you\u2019re part of the family, we\u2019ll take care of you,\u201d Lapid joked.<\/p>\n<p>ISU is taking applications for the course via an online form. The course fee is $3,500, with a $500 deposit due by Sept. 2.
