Tyson, a well-known proponent of categorizing Pluto as a dwarf planet, is a little less excited about the event, calling it \u201cawesome minus 10 percent.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt would be totally awesome if it was a much bigger place,\u201d he says in the clip.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo here\u2019s the good thing about this,\u201d Tyson says, adding that he\u2019s not completely jaded about the flyby. \u201cIt\u2019s not every day you get to be the first eyes to set upon a completely undiscovered land\u2026It is especially beautiful and exciting because&nbsp;no one has seen this before yesterday.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As to why Tyson still&nbsp;doesn\u2019t think it should be a planet?<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf Neptune were a Chevy Impala parked at the curb, ask yourself what car would Pluto be?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Colbert: \u201cA matchbox car.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s exactly what it would be.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tyson also adds how impressed he was with New Horizons\u2019 speed, which NASA reports is \u201cthe fastest spacecraft ever launched.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As New Horizons \u201cphoned home\u201d last night around 9 p.m. ET, now we just sit and wait as the spacecraft sends data back to Earth.
