{"id":19908,"date":"2026-06-04T18:31:27","date_gmt":"2026-06-04T10:31:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wp-productionenv-bjg9h2g2bgg5b8aa.southeastasia-01.azurewebsites.net\/news\/muon-space-unveils-condor-ultra-satellite-platform-for-orbital-data-center-applications\/"},"modified":"2026-06-04T18:31:27","modified_gmt":"2026-06-04T10:31:27","slug":"muon-space-unveils-condor-ultra-satellite-platform-for-orbital-data-center-applications","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/starpath.global\/news\/muon-space-unveils-condor-ultra-satellite-platform-for-orbital-data-center-applications\/","title":{"rendered":"Muon Space Unveils Condor-Ultra Satellite Platform for Orbital Data Center Applications"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Muon Space has introduced Condor-Ultra, a new high-power satellite platform designed to support emerging orbital computing, networking and space infrastructure applications.<\/p>\n<p>The platform expands the company\u2019s Condor family of spacecraft, which already includes the Condor-M and Condor-XL satellite platforms.<\/p>\n<h2>Designed for High-Power Space Missions<\/h2>\n<p>Condor-Ultra is designed to deliver significantly more power than Muon Space\u2019s existing platforms.<\/p>\n<p>According to the company, the spacecraft can provide approximately 20 kilowatts of power for payloads, with configurations capable of supporting up to 100 kilowatts depending on mission requirements.<\/p>\n<p>By comparison, the company\u2019s Condor-XL platform offers around 4 kilowatts of payload power.<\/p>\n<p>Muon Space said the new platform is intended to support next-generation space infrastructure projects requiring substantially higher energy availability.<\/p>\n<h2>Focus on Orbital Computing<\/h2>\n<p>The company identified orbital data centers, distributed computing systems and space-based networking as key target applications for Condor-Ultra.<\/p>\n<p>Muon Space said it has been working with hyperscale computing companies to understand operational requirements for future orbital data center architectures.<\/p>\n<p>The platform is designed to support onboard computing workloads as well as advanced communications and networking capabilities.<\/p>\n<h2>Nvidia Technology Integration<\/h2>\n<p>Condor-Ultra will be available with support for Nvidia\u2019s Space-1 Vera Rubin module, a computing platform developed for space-based artificial intelligence and high-performance computing applications.<\/p>\n<p>Muon joins a growing number of space companies adopting the technology, including Sierra Space and Cowboy Space.<\/p>\n<h2>Launch and Connectivity Capabilities<\/h2>\n<p>As one of the company\u2019s larger spacecraft designs, Condor-Ultra is intended to support stackable launch configurations aboard SpaceX\u2019s Starship launch vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>Muon said additional configurations are also being developed for compatibility with medium-class launch systems.<\/p>\n<p>The platform incorporates inter-satellite optical mesh networking capabilities and can utilize Starlink connectivity for communications and data transfer.<\/p>\n<p>Muon previously announced plans to integrate Starlink laser communication terminals into its satellite platforms to enable near real-time data transmission for constellation operators.<\/p>\n<h2>Pathfinder Mission Planned<\/h2>\n<p>The company said the first Condor-Ultra pathfinder mission is currently targeted for delivery in 2028.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThe most compelling space infrastructure missions of the next decade \u2013 from global communications networks to scaled remote sensing to distributed orbital compute \u2013 require a managed and integrated platform that is powerful, stackable, and built to scale cost effectively.
