Arianespace said it will launch 32 low Earth orbit satellites for Amazon on Feb. 12, 2026, marking the start of Europe\u2019s role in deploying Amazon\u2019s broadband satellite constellation and the first flight of the Ariane 6 rocket in its full-power configuration.<\/p>\n
The mission, designated VA267 and also known as LE-01 for Amazon LEO, will lift off from Europe\u2019s Spaceport aboard an Ariane 64 launcher, Arianespace said, adding that the precise launch window will be announced in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n
VA267 will be the first of 18 Ariane 6 launches contracted to support deployment of Amazon\u2019s LEO satellite network and the first time the constellation is launched by a European rocket. The flight will also represent the maiden mission of Ariane 6 in its four-booster Ariane 64 configuration, which is capable of delivering more than 20 metric tonnes to orbit.<\/p>\n
The 32 satellites will be housed under a 20-metre-long payload fairing and deployed into low Earth orbit during a mission lasting about one hour and 54 minutes from liftoff to final satellite separation.<\/p>\n
Amazon\u2019s LEO constellation, also known as Project Kuiper, is designed to provide high-speed, low-latency internet connectivity to underserved and remote regions not adequately covered by terrestrial networks. Amazon has booked multiple launch providers globally as it seeks to rapidly deploy the system and compete in the growing satellite broadband market.<\/p>\n
