U.S. aerospace startup Space Kinetic has secured a multi-million dollar contract from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) to accelerate development of its asymmetric, space-based missile defense architecture, the company said.<\/p>\n
The award marks a significant step for the venture-backed firm as it works to mature a \u201cone-to-many\u201d defensive constellation designed to counter advanced missile threats and support broader space operations.<\/p>\n
Space Kinetic said the funding will be used to refine mission architecture and upgrade key hardware elements that support both missile defense and space superiority missions \u2014 a priority area for U.S. national security planners facing increasingly complex global threats.<\/p>\n
Co-founder Ryan Sullivan said the company aims to reshape how the U.S. approaches defensive space capabilities.
