Qatar has taken a step to strengthen its military communications capabilities by signing a memorandum of understanding between satellite operator Es\u2019hailSat and the Qatar Armed Forces, aimed at supporting sovereign satellite communications and ground network requirements.<\/p>\n
The MoU, announced on Jan. 21, covers the provision of satellite communication services, ground infrastructure and secure, flexible network solutions to support government and military operations. Es\u2019hailSat said the agreement is designed to meet the armed forces\u2019 sovereign and operational needs, including secure command, control and mission continuity.<\/p>\n
Under the agreement, the two parties will seek to deepen cooperation frameworks and exchange technical and technological expertise in areas aligned with Qatar\u2019s national and strategic interests. The initiative builds on the role of the Qatar Amiri Signal Corps, which is responsible for overseeing and maintaining secure and resilient communications systems across the defence sector, including support for field operations and emergency response.<\/p>\n
