The deal, first announced on October 5, was finalized through a combination of cash and Firefly common stock paid to SciTec\u2019s owners.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"402\" data-end=\"964\">Firefly CEO Jason Kim said the acquisition marks a defining moment for the company as it evolves into a full-service provider for government and commercial space customers. \u201cToday marks the next era of Firefly with full-service hardware and software for our space and defense customers,\u201d Kim said. \u201cSciTec brings more than four decades of experience supporting high-stakes national security missions with industry-leading software applications and big data processing capabilities that are highly complementary of Firefly\u2019s launch, lunar, and in-space vehicles.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"966\" data-end=\"1426\">The acquisition integrates SciTec\u2019s AI-enabled defense software, real-time data processing systems, and multi-phenomenology sensing capabilities with Firefly\u2019s growing suite of space vehicles. Firefly said this combination strengthens its position in critical national security programs, including the Golden Dome initiative, and bolsters its ability to support space-based interceptor missions, hypersonic test missions, and space domain awareness operations.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1428\" data-end=\"1752\">SciTec\u2019s 475 employees, along with its data centers, mission operations facilities, modeling and simulation labs, and classified infrastructure, will now operate under Firefly\u2019s umbrella. The company also brings a portfolio of contracts supporting the U.S. intelligence community, defense agencies, and commercial customers.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1754\" data-end=\"2336\">Jim Lisowski, CEO of SciTec, said joining Firefly opens the door for broader mission integration and new categories of space and defense services. \u201cWe\u2019re proud to officially join the Firefly team and look forward to combining our software and hardware capabilities to bolster our existing services and create new industry-leading categories for space and defense customers,\u201d he said. \u201cBoth companies have become known for executing incredibly difficult missions from delivering a modernized missile warning system to successfully landing on the Moon.
