{"id":20345,"date":"2026-06-27T17:10:27","date_gmt":"2026-06-27T09:10:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wp-productionenv-bjg9h2g2bgg5b8aa.southeastasia-01.azurewebsites.net\/news\/reorbit-launches-orbitcloud-space-computing-programme-with-e4-6-million-backing\/"},"modified":"2026-06-27T17:10:27","modified_gmt":"2026-06-27T09:10:27","slug":"reorbit-launches-orbitcloud-space-computing-programme-with-e4-6-million-backing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/starpath.global\/news\/reorbit-launches-orbitcloud-space-computing-programme-with-e4-6-million-backing\/","title":{"rendered":"ReOrbit Launches OrbitCloud Space Computing Programme with \u20ac4.6 Million Backing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ReOrbit has launched its OrbitCloud research and development programme to develop a space-based edge computing network, supported by an initial \u20ac4.6 million (US$5.3 million) funding award from Business Finland.<\/p>\n<p>The company said the overall value of the programme is expected to exceed \u20ac40 million (US$46 million) as development progresses.<\/p>\n<h2>Space-Based Edge Computing<\/h2>\n<p>ReOrbit describes OrbitCloud as a private satellite network that combines direct-to-device (D2D) connectivity with onboard artificial intelligence processing.<\/p>\n<p>The proposed architecture is designed to deliver real-time intelligence to drones and mobile devices by integrating satellite communications, orbital AI inference and inter-satellite links.<\/p>\n<p>According to the company, the system aims to reduce reliance on terrestrial communications infrastructure while supporting secure data processing in orbit.<\/p>\n<h2>Focus on Sovereign Infrastructure<\/h2>\n<p>ReOrbit said the programme comes amid growing demand for sovereign satellite infrastructure and secure communications capabilities in Europe and other markets.<\/p>\n<p>Chief Executive Officer and founder Sethu Saveda Suvanam said the initiative represents a new approach to satellite-based computing.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cOrbitCloud represents a fundamental shift in how satellite infrastructure delivers intelligence.
