Amazon\u2019s low Earth orbit satellite service, often referred to as Amazon LEO, has signed new reseller agreements with maritime providers to expand high-speed internet access across global shipping routes, positioning the company against established rivals in the sector.<\/p>\n
The agreements with Dubai-based ELCOME and Florida-based MTN will extend connectivity to merchant shipping, offshore operations, fishing fleets, cruise vessels and private yachts. Both companies will distribute Amazon\u2019s maritime terminals, including the compact Leo Pro antenna and the higher-capacity Leo Ultra system.<\/p>\n
Trevor Vieweg, head of global business for Amazon\u2019s satellite division, said the partnerships would enable vessels to support critical onboard systems even in remote ocean regions. He noted that low-latency connectivity could enhance crew communications, vessel monitoring, diagnostics and integration with shore-based operations.<\/p>\n
