The program, unveiled June 3 by John Clark, Lockheed\u2019s senior vice president of technology and strategic innovation, seeks to create a government-standard digital proving ground spanning air, land, sea, and space operations.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"720\" data-end=\"1103\">Speaking at an AI conference hosted by the nonprofit Special Competitive Studies Project, Clark highlighted the need for a dedicated test and evaluation environment as AI increasingly shapes warfare. \u201cThat requires us to have a test and evaluation ground so that all of the algorithms, all these new AI inventions that are coming along, that we can test them properly,\u201d Clark said.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1105\" data-end=\"1487\">Initially developed to test Lockheed\u2019s own AI algorithms, the platform\u2019s access was expanded to smaller companies with promising technologies but lacking the capital or infrastructure to meet Pentagon-grade evaluation standards. This approach aims to bring greater transparency to the Pentagon\u2019s AI adoption process by including innovators outside traditional defense contractors.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1489\" data-end=\"1751\">\u201cThere are many small companies that have great ideas and great AI but they don\u2019t have the capital to support the full test environment and the full ecosystem that underpins it,\u201d Clark said. \u201cThey can now connect in and tie into our AI Fight Club environment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1753\" data-end=\"2045\">Participants will compete using government-approved AI models and simulation tools across complex scenarios \u2014 including space surveillance, homeland defense, and amphibious assaults \u2014 structured to Department of Defense standards to ensure results are applicable to national security needs.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2047\" data-end=\"2255\">\u201cWe\u2019re going to be inviting anybody who wants to get their AI up against the government environment with our native test and evaluation setup to determine how well their systems are performing,\u201d Clark said.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2257\" data-end=\"2549\">Borrowing its name from the 1999 film \u201cFight Club,\u201d the program promises strict protection of participants\u2019 intellectual property, ensuring that activities and data remain confidential within the platform. However, teams will have opportunities to share and publish their research findings.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2551\" data-end=\"2873\">Top-performing teams may attract Lockheed Martin\u2019s attention as potential suppliers.
