The work is expected to continue through March 19, 2029.<\/p>\n<p>PTS-G is intended to provide protected satellite communications capabilities for military operations while serving as an interim solution ahead of more advanced systems planned under the future Protected Tactical Satellite Communications-Resilient (PTS-Resilient) architecture.<\/p>\n<p>In July, the Space Force awarded a combined $37.3 million in earlier contracts to Viasat, Intelsat General Communications, Northrop Grumman, Astranis and Boeing for the design and demonstration phase of PTS-G technologies.<\/p>\n<p>The latest awards follow a separate contract announced last week in which Northrop Grumman received $398 million for the Enhanced Protected Tactical Satellite-Prototype (EPTS-P) program.
