Polar Access-1, the first edition of this programme, delivers a coordinated and Space-qualified stack of 4 satellites, 5 separation systems, and multiple operational Ground Stations, all executed through Dhruva Space\u2019s full-stack Space infrastructure \u2014 including in-house satellite platforms, launch vehicle integration, separation systems, and Ground-Station-as-a-Service (GSaaS), for which Dhruva Space received authorisation from IN-SPACe, Government of India, in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Collectively, these missions support disaster communication, environmental monitoring, education, and commercial Earth Observation, with downstream impact across public institutions and emerging Space &nbsp;Tech users.<\/p>\n<div class=\"widget-layout related-content-also-read-box my-3\">\n<h4 class=\"mb-0\">Also Read: What are the the Different Types of Launch Vehicles used in Space?<\/h4>\n<\/div>\n<p>Through the PA-1 mission, Dhruva Space is institutionalising space capability across India and neighbouring nations by enabling first-of-its-kind satellite missions for States, universities, and public institutions. Internationally, the mission supports Nepal\u2019s Earth Observation and technology demonstration satellite developed by the Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) and Antariksh Pratishthan Nepal (APN), focusing on vegetation density mapping and launched via NSIL-ISRO. Within India, PA-1 includes Odisha\u2019s first satellite CGUSAT-1, developed with CV Raman Global University for store-and-forward disaster communications; Karnataka\u2019s DSAT-1 with Dayananda Sagar University for amateur-band communications and telemetry; and LACHIT-1, developed with Assam Don Bosco University, marking the first satellite mission from the Northeast region. Additional technology demonstration missions include Tamil Nadu-based NGE OrbitAID\u2019s on-orbit refuelling interface, supported via Dhruva Space\u2019s Ground Station-as-a-Service (GSaaS); Gujarat\u2019s 1U CubeSat featuring an LED \u2018artificial star\u2019 payload developed by CubeSat Aerospace; and THYBOLT-3, Dhruva Space\u2019s in-house satellite demonstrating a satellite-enabled disaster communication network. Dhruva Space also supported launch integration, deployment, and full mission operations for the first commercial satellite of a Hyderabad-based New-Generation Enterprise customer.<\/p>\n<p>These university and customer missions are delivered under Dhruva Space\u2019s ASTRA (Accelerated Space Technology Readiness &amp; Access) for Academia programme, which focuses on building long-term, sovereign, State-level space capabilities. Using its space-qualified P-DoT satellite platforms, DSOD-1U and DSOD-6U separation systems, and campus-based ground stations, Dhruva Space is enabling end-to-end mission ownership for institutions. CGUSAT-1, DSAT-1, LACHIT-1, and THYBOLT-3 will be accessible to the global amateur radio community, supporting satellite communications experimentation and emergency response.
