In recent years, China has made significant strides in space exploration, launching many probes, landing rovers on the far side of the Moon and Mars, and even constructing its own space station.<\/p>\n

Recently, the Chinese government has stated that a manned lunar base will be built in a permanently shadowed area of the southern polar region of the Moon, an area that never receives sunlight. This makes sense, considering it\u2019s here that one would have the best shot at finding water-ice \u2013 that not only keeps astronauts hydrated but can be used to produce air and fuel.<\/p>\n

Now, Reuters reports, citing local media, that over 100 Chinese scientists, researchers, and space contractors have gathered in the central city of Wuhan to explore strategies for constructing infrastructure on the Moon.<\/p>\n
