This rideshare launch, \u201cThey Go Up So Fast\u201d,  will deliver 7 satellites into orbit for customers including BlackSky, the University of New South Wales, and the US Army\u2019s Space and Missile Defense command.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-11641\"><\/span><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-whats-on-board-electron\">Whats on board Electron?<\/h3>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Photon Pathstone\n<ul>\n<li>A demonstration of Rocket Lab\u2019s in-house platform for satellites in low earth orbit. This pathstone is testing the technology in support of Rocket Lab\u2019s mission to the moon for NASA.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>BlackSky Global Series\n<ul>\n<li>A high-resolution earth imaging satellite. Artificial intelligence will be used to analyze the imagery captured.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Centauri 3\n<ul>\n<li>One part of Fleet Space\u2019s planned 140 satellite internet of things constellation. This satellite is also testing various sensor and exploration techniques in support of future missions to the moon and beyond.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Myriota 7\n<ul>\n<li>A satellite to expand coverage of Myriota\u2019s internet of things network coverage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Veery Hatchling\n<ul>\n<li>A satellite for Care Weather testing their vertically integrated power and avionics solution.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>M2\n<ul>\n<li>A satellite for the University of New South Wales Canberra Space with capabilities including Earth observation and maritime surveillance. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Gunsmoke-J\n<ul>\n<li>An Experimental satellite for the US Army\u2019s Space and Missile Defense Command to assist in the development of new capabilities for the US Army.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Notably, Rocket Lab\u2019s Photon will deploy the final satellite to an orbit of 450km, following the deployment of the other satellites at a 550km circular orbit.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image wp-block-image--obfuscated\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/spaceexplored.com\/wp-content\/themes\/ninetofive\/dist\/images\/default-spaceexplored-related-guide.png\" alt=\"Site default logo image\" loading=\"lazy\"><\/figure>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rocket Lab\u2019s 18-meter Electron rocket is much smaller than most other orbital rockets, but this allows them to focus on small satellites and low costs. Earlier this year, Rocket Lab announced a larger Medium lift launch vehicle, Neutron, as a Mega constellation launcher. Neutron is still a few years away, and even once it debuts Electron will still be a great option for smaller missions like this.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Those in New Zealand can watch the launch in person, but Rocket Lab also has a live broadcast.
