Introduction to Rockets<\/p>\n<p>New Glenn is a polished heavy-duty launch vehicle with a two-stage configuration, a height of 98 meters, a low-Earth orbit transport capacity of 45 tons, and a synchronous transfer orbit transport capacity of 13.6 tons. The first sub-stage is reusable and is designed to be recycled no less than 25 times. As a heavy-duty commercial launch vehicle, New Glenn can meet the launch missions of various orbital missions with larger mass, and its 7-meter fairing enables it to transport geosynchronous orbit satellites with 5-meter diameter antennas. The second stage has a diameter of 7 meters and is equipped with 2 BE-3U engines. BE-3U is an open expansion cycle liquid oxygen and liquid hydrogen rocket engine self-developed by Blue Origin. It has a vacuum thrust of 712 kN (72 tons) and a maximum throttling of 88%. The fairing used for the New Glenn rocket has a diameter of 7m, a height of 21.9 meters, and a volume of 458 cubic meters.<\/p>\n<p>2. Introduction to recycling ships<\/p>\n<p>The Jacklyn is an unmanned recovery ship named by Bezos after his mother. It is 116 meters long and 46 meters wide. It is used to recover the first stage of the New Glenn rocket. In early 2023, the Jacqueline began construction in Romania; on September 4, 2024, the Jacqueline arrived at Port Canaveral, Florida, the United States, for service. The Jacqueline is equipped with an ROV (remotely operated recovery operator). The ROV can establish a connection with the rocket immediately after the New Glenn first sub-stage lands. It establishes electrical, communication and pneumatic connections between the first sub-stage and the recovery ship through a liftable mechanical arm. The ROV operator conducts remote control on the Harvey Stone tugboat, which is 5-10 nautical miles away from the Jacqueline.<\/p>\n<p>3.
