A brief introduction to each rocket company is as follows:<\/p>\n<p>1. Space Exploration Technology Company (SpaceX)<\/p>\n<p>Space Exploration Technologies Corporation (SpaceX) was founded by Elon Musk in 2002 and is headquartered in Hawthorne, California, USA. In the early days of its establishment, the company experienced three failed Falcon 1 rocket launches and almost ran out of funds. On September 28, 2008, the fourth Falcon 1 rocket was successfully launched from Kwajalein Atoll in the Pacific Ocean, becoming the world&#8217;s first liquid rocket developed by a private company and successfully entered Earth orbit. Since then, SpaceX launched Falcon 9 on June 4, 2010 and Falcon Heavy on February 6, 2018. Currently, SpaceX has a total of three rockets that have successfully entered orbit. Rocket Lab<\/p>\n<p>Rocket Lab was founded in 2006 by Peter Baker and is headquartered in Long Beach, California, USA. Rocket Lab adopts a vertically integrated development strategy, focusing on the launch market of small satellites (such as cubesats and microsatellites). It provides customers with customized launch service solutions through the Electron rocket (SSO (500 km) capacity 0.2 tons), and provides comprehensive satellite design, manufacturing and deployment solutions through its satellite department to provide customers with end-to-end satellite solutions. On May 25, 2017, the Electron rocket was launched from the Mahia Launch Complex. The rocket successfully completed key procedures such as first-stage ignition, inter-stage separation, second-stage ignition and fairing separation, but ultimately failed to successfully enter the intended orbit. On January 21, 2018, the Electron rocket was launched again from the Mahia Launch Complex, sending multiple small satellites into orbit, becoming the second rocket in the world developed by a private rocket company and successfully put into orbit. Since then, the Electron rocket has become a common choice for NASA&#8217;s small satellite missions. At present, the &#8220;Electron&#8221; rocket has been launched 68 times, with 4 failures and 64 successes. The launch success rate is 94.12%. In February 2019, Rocket Lab, along with the Virginia Commercial Space Flight Authority, began building the launch pad. On December 12, 2019, Launch Complex 2 was completed. On January 24, 2023, the &#8220;Electron&#8221; rocket was successfully launched from Launch Complex 2. This was the first time that the &#8220;Electron&#8221; rocket was launched in the United States. In 2025, Rocket Laboratory officially opened the LC-3 launch pad on Wallops Island, Virginia, which will be used to launch the Neutron rocket in the future.<\/p>\n<p>3. Galaxy Power<\/p>\n<p>On November 7, 2020, the Ceres-1 launch vehicle developed by Galaxy Power was successfully launched. Virgin Orbit<\/p>\n<p>Virgin Orbit was founded by British billionaire Richard Branson and is headquartered in California, USA. Virgin Orbit is known for its unique space-based launch system. This system uses a modified Boeing 747 aircraft named &#8220;Cosmic Girl&#8221; to launch the &#8220;Launcher 1&#8221; rocket (the world&#8217;s first all-liquid fuel air-launched orbital rocket, using a two-stage configuration, started in 2007, and successfully flew for the first time on January 17, 2021, SSO (500 km) capacity 0.3 tons) at high altitude to put small satellites into orbit. The advantage of this method is that it can theoretically be launched from any airport in the world that can accommodate the take-off and landing of large aircraft, and has high flexibility. However, each launch requires the coordination of aircraft, rockets and multiple ground support systems, which results in high operating costs. Therefore, Virgin Orbit has never been able to achieve high-frequency launches. In 2021, Astra was listed on Nasdaq through a merger with Holicity, a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC), and was valued at approximately $2.1 billion at the time. Astra&#8217;s main product is Rocket 3, which focuses on providing responsive, short-turnaround launch services at a relatively low cost. Since 2018, Rocket 3 has conducted two suborbital launches, all of which failed. One orbital mission exploded on the launch pad, and three orbital missions failed. Finally, after 6 failures, the first successful launch was held on November 20, 2021. Currently, Rocket 3 has conducted a total of 7 orbital launches, with 5 failures and 2 successes, with a mission success rate of 28.57%.<\/p>\n<p>7. Firefly Aerospace<\/p>\n<p>Firefly Aerospace was founded in 2014 and is headquartered in Austin, Texas, USA. The company&#8217;s rocket product is the Alpha rocket, a two-stage liquid launch vehicle that focuses on low-cost and rapid response launches. On October 1, 2022, the Alpha rocket successfully entered orbit for the first time at Vandenberg Space Force Base (but the orbit height was lower than the planned orbit). So far, the Alpha rocket has been launched a total of 6 times, with 2 successes and 4 failures, with a launch success rate of 33.33%. In addition, Firefly Aerospace is also cooperating with Northrop Grumman to develop a medium-sized reusable launch vehicle-the Eclipse rocket. The low-orbit carrying capacity has been greatly increased to about 16 tons.
