Rocket Pai (Beijing) Aerospace Technology Co., Ltd. Rocket Pai (Beijing) Aerospace Technology Co., Ltd. was established in 2015. The company’s rocket assembly and testing base is located in Taicang, Jiangsu, its R&D branch is located in Fengtai, Beijing, and its space science laboratory and liquid rocket sea launch platform are located at the Oriental Spaceport in Haiyang, Shandong. The company’s core products include small liquid launch vehicles, high-thrust electric pump engines, returnable satellites, etc. The founder, Cheng Wei, is one of the few founders in the commercial rocket industry who has no aerospace background. Cheng Wei’s past experience was mainly concentrated in the investment field (co-founding partner of Beijing Longyi Qihang Fund Management Co., Ltd.) and the game field (successfully operated a number of large-scale online games such as “Crossfire”). The co-founder and chief scientist is Zhuang Fengyuan, who is an academician of the Department of Life Sciences of the International Academy of Astronautics (Academician Zhuang was born on February 17, 1939, and is over 80 years old). The company’s core products in the field of launch vehicles are the “Darwin” 1 liquid launch vehicle and the “Darwin” 2 liquid launch vehicle. “Darwin” 1 is a two-stage small liquid launch vehicle with a height of 24 meters, a diameter of 1.4 meters, and a low-Earth orbit carrying capacity of 300 kg. It is expected to be launched for the first time in mid-2025. “Darwin” 2 is a two-stage liquid rocket. The engine is made of Jiuzhou Yunjian (my country’s first 10km-level reusable rocket vertical takeoff and landing test that blew up the screen. Do you really understand the treasure company behind the test | Decoding Jiuzhou Yunjian (Beijing) Space Technology Co., Ltd.). A Longyun liquid oxygen methane engine is installed on the first stage, and a Lingyun liquid oxygen methane engine is installed on the second stage. 27.2 meters in diameter, 2.25 meters in diameter, with a low-Earth orbit transport capacity of 0.5 tons and a sun-synchronous orbit transport capacity of 0.3 tons. The core product in the satellite field is the Torch-1 satellite, which weighs 12.798 kilograms and carries microgravity life science test payloads and earth observation payloads. After the satellite is put into orbit, it can complete the observation of the growth of microorganisms in the food industry under microgravity conditions and realize the reception of ground-facing observation data. The biological load mainly includes Huozhong No. 1 and Huozhong No. 2. “Huozhong No. 1” is the first space microgravity biological experimental device designed and developed by a private enterprise in China. “Huozhong 1” successfully made its first flight on December 17, 2021, and the “Torch 1” satellite successfully made its first flight on December 9, 2022. The technical and commercial routes of Rocket School are different from those of most current domestic rocket companies. The Rocket School insists on starting from a small rocket and developing its own electric pump rocket engine. In addition, Rocket School is one of the few domestic commercial aerospace companies that manufactures both rockets and satellites (currently, Blue Arrow Aerospace (Decoding Blue Arrow Aerospace Technology Co., Ltd., how the world’s first liquid oxygen methane rocket was successfully put into orbit) also manufactures both rockets and satellites. Blue Arrow Aerospace has expanded the satellite industry chain by building Blue Arrow Hongqing (China’s third mega-constellation of over 10,000 satellites, do you really understand? Decoding Shanghai Blue Arrow Hongqing Technology Co., Ltd.)). Rocket School’s core strategy is to build systematic space launch and on-orbit service capabilities through the “satellite-rocket integration” model, and promote the industrialization of space life sciences.

Ps: The author actually doesn’t quite understand the survival logic of the Rockets. Whose money do they want to make in the short term and whose money do they want to make in the long term? After the companies that are currently preparing to rely on orders from StarNet and Yuanxin for development (such as Interstellar Glory, Blue Arrow Aerospace, Tianbing Technology, Zhongke Aerospace, Oriental Space, Arrow Technology, etc.) will grow stronger with the progress of my country’s large-scale networking mission, the entire commercial rocket enterprise will undergo a new round of reshuffle. What is the advantage of Rocketry in this round of reshuffle. When these companies turn their guns to seize Rocket Pie’s market, how will Rocket Pie respond? In addition, the current capital market is different from the capital market in previous years. From 2015 to now, the 1.0 era of the commercial aerospace industry is about to end or has already ended. In the past ten years, not only industries have developed, investors’ accumulation of industries has also been continuously strengthened. Today’s investors’ understanding of the industry and their judgment on the future direction of industry development are no longer the same as in the past. The era of PPT financing has become a thing of the past in the overall rocket field. In this context, if the ability to self-supply blood cannot be formed as early as possible, the chill of the law of the jungle will strike at any time.

11. Beijing Aerospace Yilong Technology Co., Ltd. Beijing Aerospace Yilong Technology Co., Ltd. was established in April 2022. It takes the development of launch vehicles as its core business. The company’s core product under development is the Yilong series of launch vehicles. Founder Sui Guofa graduated from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics and served as deputy general manager of Tianjin Aerospace Long March Rocket Manufacturing Company. There is very little public information about Aerospace Yilong, and Mr. Sui is a bit frugal. It has been more than two years since its establishment, and it has not even built a company website. It is not yet clear which market the Yilong series of rockets will ultimately capture. If you want to participate in large-scale constellation networking, it may be a bit late to start. With the launch of the first batch of networking satellites of the “Thousand Sails Constellation”, my country’s satellite networking plan has pressed the accelerator button, and the era of intensive launches is coming. In this context, whichever company’s rocket can be put into the market first will have a better chance of surviving the fierce market competition and grabbing more market share. If Aerospace Yilong is an externally sourced engine, what are its advantages compared with Jianyuan Technology (Decode Beijing Jianyuan Technology Co., Ltd., the first private rocket company in China to adopt the “stainless steel rocket body + liquid oxygen methane” solution). After all, Jianyuan was established more than two years earlier than Yilong. If it is a self-developed engine, where will a large number of test runs be done? If Yilong’s products have particularly good performance and can surprise the market both in terms of technology and cost control once launched, then other companies will definitely not be willing to give their test benches to Yilong. If Yilong builds its own test bed, then after the Tianbing Technology (Decoding Beijing Tianbing Technology Co., Ltd., how private rocket companies can achieve success at launch) Gongyi test bed incident, the entire industry is under the background of safety inspections, which place is willing to provide a site for Yilong to build a test bed in the short term.

12. Xi’an Aerospace Engine Technology Co., Ltd.

Xi’an Aerospace Engine Technology Co., Ltd. was established in March 2018 and received seed round financing in the same year. The company’s main rocket products include the Xingdi-1 AX-1 and Xingdi-11 AX-11 launch vehicles. Rocket engine products include Yanyu-1 AY-1, Yanyu-2 AY-2, and Yanyu-11 AY-11 engines. According to information disclosed through public channels, the company’s current development progress is scheduled for the successful soft landing buffer simulation test of the “AX-1S” rocket in November 2022. I don’t really understand the business logic of the aerospace engine. The capacity of the Star Dysprosium AX-1 is only 300 kg. It is definitely impossible to get orders from Star Network and Yuan Xin. If it is to launch small satellites, what are the advantages compared with Galaxy Power (decoding Beijing Galaxy Power Aerospace Technology Co., Ltd., my country’s first commercial rocket company with a double-digit number of launches). Galaxy Dynamics was also established in 2018, but Ceres 1 has already reached the farthest limit. Although Ceres 1 is a solid rocket, it can still take on missions, and its transport capacity is larger than that of the Star Dysprosium 1 AX-1. 13. Beijing Xingtu Exploration Technology Co., Ltd. Beijing Xingtu Exploration Technology Co., Ltd. was established in October 2017. It is a private commercial aerospace enterprise engaged in the development of system-level aerospace products. The company’s main products include Changfeng series target missiles, Discovery series suborbital rockets and Xingtu series launch vehicles, which have been successfully launched four times in December 2019, January 2021, February 2022 and June 2023. Xingtu Discovery R&D headquarters is located in Yizhuang Economic and Technological Development Zone, Beijing. In the field of launch vehicles, the company’s main products are the “Exploration 1” rocket and the “Xingtu 1” rocket. The “Exploration 1” rocket is a universal flight test platform developed by Beijing Xingtu Exploration Technology Co., Ltd. for the verification of key technologies of near-space vehicles. The “Xingtu 1” rocket is a small solid commercial launch vehicle developed by Beijing Xingtu Exploration Technology Co., Ltd. for micro-satellite launch services. Regardless of target missiles and suborbital rockets, let’s just talk about launch vehicles. The SSO capacity of “Xingtu 1” is only 240 kg. It has been almost seven years since Xingtu Exploration launched a small solid rocket with an SSO capacity of 240kg. However, Eastern Space (the biggest dark horse in commercial aerospace in 2024 | Decoding Eastern Space (Shandong) Technology Co., Ltd.), which was established in 2020, has already launched the Gravity 1 with an SSO capacity of 4.2t. How does Xingtu Exploration deal with the market encirclement of Ceres 1 and Gravitation 1. 14. Beijing Star Arrow Aerospace Technology Co., Ltd. Beijing Star Arrow Space Technology Co., Ltd. was established in April 2020. The company’s main business includes rocket overall research and development, space science experiments, weapons and equipment supporting and other fields. Star Arrow’s existing products include sounding rockets, suborbital rockets, training target missiles and actual combat missiles, launch vehicles, space and atmospheric physics detection equipment, etc. As far as the overall rocket industry is concerned, Star Arrow started a bit late, although Eastern Space (20 The biggest dark horse in commercial aerospace in 2024 | Decoded Oriental Space (Shandong) Technology Co., Ltd. was also established in 2020, but there is a big man behind Oriental Space. Shaanxi Tianhui was established in 2021, but Tianhui is backed by NPU, and the founder Liu Hongjun is from the Sixth Institute of Engine Engineering. Tianhui’s technical route is also somewhat different from that of traditional rocket companies. In this case, what are the advantages of Star Arrow Tianhui. 15. Beijing Qianyi Aerospace Technology Co., Ltd. Beijing Qianyi Aerospace Technology Co., Ltd. was established in November 2020. It is a liquid launch vehicle manufacturer. It is mainly engaged in the research and development and manufacturing of reusable liquid launch vehicles and reusable liquid sounding rockets. Through rocket recovery technology, it mainly solves the needs of the aerospace field to significantly increase rocket transportation capacity and reduce transportation costs. The rockets developed by the company include the “Space Hunter EX” sounding rocket, the “Space Hunter 1” launch vehicle and many other products. Qianyi Aerospace is an externally sourced engine, which is somewhat similar to the route of Arrow Technology (Decoding Beijing Arrow Technology Co., Ltd., the first private rocket company in China to adopt the “stainless steel rocket body + liquid oxygen methane” solution). The difference is that Jianyuan Technology purchases engines from Jiuzhou Yunjian, while Qianyi Aerospace purchases engines from aerospace propulsion (will companies that make rocket engines make satellite engines? | Decoding Beijing Aerospace Propulsion Technology Co., Ltd.). The comparison between the engines of Aerospace Propulsion and Jiuzhou Yunjian will not be discussed here. I will write a separate article later. Here I will only talk about Qianyi Aerospace. Arrow Technology does not make engines for the time being because they mainly focus on technological innovation in structural systems. Arrow Technology directly benchmarks against Musk and uses stainless steel rocket bodies. This is the reason why they currently source engines from outside. The main purpose is to first run through the technical solution and launch the rocket into the sky. As for Qianyi Aerospace’s technological innovation, we haven’t seen much of it so far. If according to the company’s description, it is rocket recovery technology, then what are the advantages compared with Deep Blue Aerospace (which takes a different approach and focuses on the research and development of recyclable rockets | Decoding Jiangsu Deep Blue Aerospace Co., Ltd.). 16. Beijing Dahang Leap Technology Co., Ltd.

Beijing Dahang Leap Technology Co., Ltd. was established in 2024. It is a medium-to-large reusable launch vehicle company featuring “ground capture + intelligent control”. Dahang Leap was established too late, so I won’t go into details here.

PS: Zero One Space no longer does rocket development, so I won’t write about it here.

A total of three issues of the overall corporate inventory of China’s commercial rockets were written, involving 16 companies. All the companies that are still doing rocket development should have written about it. If there are other companies that are still doing it, you can leave a message to add. The above opinions only represent the author’s personal views. If you have other ideas, please leave a message to add. Here are the links to the first two issues for your convenience. 1.
