\u201cContinue to make good progress towards rollout. Completed all the structural leak checks this week. Making preps to open the PLBDs. Have the strongbacks on, will open the doors (Friday),\u201d noted KSC Ground Operations (L2).<\/p>\n
\u201cWill have the TSA installed Saturday, and then will close the doors on Sunday. That will get them in a posture to support the weight and C.G. activity. Still on track to support rollout on September 8.\u201d<\/p>\n

The NASA Test Director (NTD) confirmed the re-opening of the doors on Friday, with Flight Operations and Integration (FO&I) noting their appreciation and thanks for working the late task.<\/p>\n\u201cThe PLB doors will be opened today (Friday) to install a Lightweight Tool Stowage Assembly (LWTSA),\u201d noted the NTD, with FO&I adding: \u201cThanks and appreciation to everyone helping with the installation of the TSA. Using two avionics bays to install some of the items, and have discovered a few missing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Discovery is behaving impeccably inside the OPF, with no new IPRs (Interim Problem Reports) being charged against her flow for some time now. She will be put to sleep (powered down) for the final time during a flight processing flow \u2013 given STS-133 is her final mission \u2013 on Monday.<\/p>\n

\u201cOV-103 (OPF Bay 3): Multifunction Electronic Display Subsystem (MEDS) checkout was completed. Aft structural leak test was completed. Orbiter compartment positive pressure test was completed. Vent doors have been positioned for rollout,\u201d added the NTD summary of recent flow events.<\/p>\n
\u201cGPS battery replacement is complete. The ET (External Tank) doors are positioned to centerline for flight. MLG (Main Landing Gear) strut hydraulic level and GN2 leak checks are complete. SSME (Space Shuttle Main Engines) are configured for rollout.<\/p>\n
\u201cPre-ops for Jackdown to support Weight & CG measurements pick up Friday night. Jackdown\/Weight & CG is scheduled for Tuesday 8\/31. Orbiter final power down for rollover will be Monday. Weekend work: LWTSA installation, PLB closeouts for rollout, PLBD closure, MLG strut pressurization for flight, and TPS (Thermal Protection System) ops.\u201d<\/p>\n
Flight Operations and Integration have already completed their review for Discovery\u2019s departure from her OPF, with the key Orbiter Mate and Rollout Review (ORMR) set to take place early on Wednesday morning. No constraints have been noted at this time.<\/p>\n

Over in the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB), the mated ET-137 and Solid Rocket Boosters stack is in the correct configuration to receive Discovery on September 8, although work is being conducted via X-rays \u2013 called for after a flight washer was found in ET-138\u2019s LOX\/LO2 Feedline.<\/p>\n\u201cSRB BI-144 \/ RSRM 112 \/ ET-137 (VAB HB-3): ET-137: X-ray operations picked up Wednesday supporting the ET-138 found-washer issue,\u201d noted the NTD flow report. \u201cX-Rays inside the inter-tank are complete. Expect inter-tank X-Rays to be complete (by Friday). Will also install Pic-board on level D-2.\u201d<\/p>\n
Engineers will continue the contingency X-rays into next week, as all three tanks \u2013 the latter being ET-122, which is currently undergoing final processing at the Michoud Assembly Facility (MAF) \u2013 are checked for the unlikely event of another washer of Foreign Object Debris (FOD) being found out of place.<\/p>\n
\u201cLO2 Feedline Bellows (Intertank) x-ray ops completed on Thursday. LO2 Feedline Bellows (from the VAB High Bay-3 B-Roof) to pick up; that work is scheduled to complete on Friday,\u201d continued the NTD report. \u201cLO2 Feedline x-ray ops will pick up on Friday and continue into next week.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Mr Shannon provided one of his regular rallying calls, asking the teams to mirror the successes seen via what was the fastest flight rate seen since the loss of Columbia \u2013 a run of eight missions between March 2009 and May 2010.<\/p>\n\u201cDiscovery will be rolled over into the VAB in less than two weeks. Summer is over. We had a lull after a very successful, very busy time last year,\u201d noted Mr Shannon via notes in the latest Shuttle Standup\/Integration report (L2).<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have gotten to take a little bit of time to regroup, some retreats and discussions amongst the groups, but now we need to pick the urgency back up and start working off the different issues that are sitting in front of the Program.<\/p>\n
