The agreement will likely see Delta IV agreeing to slip should Atlantis fail to launch on the first or second attempt. The full details of the deal have not been provided at this time.<\/p>\n<p>Atlantis is being processing for her STS-132 mission that will be the 132nd flight of the Shuttle Program and the 34th shuttle flight dedicated to construction and outfitting of the International Space Station, as she carries up a largely Russian payload. She will head into STS-335 processing \u2013 potentially becoming STS-135 \u2013 upon her return.<\/p>\n<p>STS-132 Specific Articles: http:\/\/www.nasaspaceflight.com\/tag\/sts-132\/<\/p>\n<p>STS-132 Processing Specific:<\/p>\n<p>Atlantis is currently working no IPRs (Interim Problem Reports), following the clearance of what was only the 17th issue during her flow, relating to an elbow camera retest on the Remote Manipulator System (RMS), which was completed with nominal results.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-13977\" title=\"A4\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nasaspaceflight.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/A418.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"318\" height=\"250\">Engineers have been checking the ceramic inserts on Atlantis\u2019 windows and associated hardware (Forward Reaction Control System), after one of the tiny rings was observed as protruding on Endeavour\u2019s Window 2 during STS-130. Similar checks took place on Discovery prior to her arrival at Pad 39A.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cScheduled ceramic insert inspection\/pull tests were completed. Crew hatch: All passed pull test but failed clearance requirement,\u201d noted KSC Integration. \u201cL\/H FRCS: Four inserts inspected. All failed clearance requirement. Two failed pull test. Two were not pull tested due to platform in the way.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cR\/H (Right Hand) FRCS: Four inserts inspected. Three failed clearance requirement. All passed pull test.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A small amount of work has already been already been carried out on securing the inserts, although even Endeavour\u2019s insert managed to remain in place all the way through entry and landing on STS-130.<\/p>\n<p>Other work taking place on Atlantis relates to rollover preparations, such as leak checks and inspections on the orbiter\u2019s landing gear, which will be retracted for the final time less than a week prior to the orbiter\u2019s ride to the VAB on the Orbiter Transporter System (OTS).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNose Landing Gear (NLG) strut thruster installation was completed Friday. Thruster and forward ET attach bolt electrical connections were also completed on Friday. ECLSS (Environmental Control and Life Support System) nitrogen three day decay test started Monday,\u201d added NASA Test Director (NTD) processing information (L2).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMEDS (Multifunctional Electronic Display System) checkout is scheduled to start (Monday). OMS (Orbital Maneuvering System) pod structural test will start (Monday) with completion scheduled tomorrow (Tuesday).\u201d<\/p>\n<p>ET-136 Repair:<\/p>\n<p>With STS-132\u2019s boosters \u2013 BI-143 (Booster Integration) and RSRM (Reusable Solid Rocket Motors) 111 \u2013 enjoying a nominal flow inside High Bay 1 (HB 1) of the VAB, the focus of processing reports have been on ET-136 in High Bay 2 East (HB-2 East).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-13978\" title=\"A6\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nasaspaceflight.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/A69.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"330\" height=\"243\">A problem with the tank was first reported in processing notes on March 12, when engineers noted a Problem Report (PR) had been charged against the -Y PAL Ramp during closeouts.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPR ET-136-TS-0012 was generated on -Y PAL ramp for foam de-lamination. Disposition is in signatures to R&amp;R (Remove and Replace) ramp,\u201d the opening note on the issue reported.<\/p>\n<p>Once the PAL ramp was removed the following day, it was noted the conathane \u2013 a type of foam sealant \u2013 did not appear to cure properly. Following its reapplication, the repair was left to cure.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cET-136 (VAB HB-2 East): PR ET-136-TS-0012 on \u2013Y PAL ramp foam de-lamination; Conathane application is complete and in cure,\u201d the latest processing information confirmed. \u201c-Y PAL ramp foam de-lamination. Cure sold, samples good. Trim of on PAL Ramp still inwork.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Nominal processing flow work on the tank is continuing, with the large 17 inch connections \u2013 which will be mated with Atlantis next month \u2013 undergoing checks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLO2 \/ LH2 17\u201d Disconnect Measurements\/Adjust; Dew point sampling is worked complete, GHe purity sampling worked complete. Leak checks are complete on the LO2 and LH2 umbilicals,\u201d added the latest from the NTD on progress in the VAB.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHelium inject; Fit check is complete, Conathane application and Photo\u2019s are complete. Mold installation and photo\u2019s are complete, Conathane is in cure, PDL (foam) pour is complete and in cure. Receiving\/Shakedown Inspection Rework \u2013 processing continues on schedule.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-13979\" title=\"A8\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nasaspaceflight.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/A84.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"285\" height=\"263\">Good news was reported on the plug\/pull tests conducted on ET-136\u2019s intertank, tests which check the adhesive properties of the stringer foam and the intertank structure.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIntertank adhesion test; Pull test is complete. All 78 test locations pulled cohesive with values ranging from 35.8 to 77.0 psi except one location A30 pulled cohesively at a value of 7.1 psi,\u201d the NTD noted. \u201cAn adjacent test (A30A) was performed and obtained a cohesive value of 50.9 psi using a different plug pull unit.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>These tests will continue on the downstream tanks, following several recent incidents of foam liberations from the intertank region during ascent.
