Once engineers managed to remove the pin, a small gouge was observed on the umbilical plate.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"150\" alt=\"\" hspace=\"5\" src=\"http:\/\/forum.nasaspaceflight.com\/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=3894.0;attach=94356;image\" width=\"200\" align=\"left\" vspace=\"5\" border=\"0\/\">It has since been noted that the guillotine valve \u2013 which has two spring loaded halves that open up for the stud to pass through \u2013 on the \u2018pyro can\u2019 was the likely cause of the problem. <\/p>\n<p>A replacement pyro can is now being installed on Thursday. <\/p>\n<p>\u2018The new pyro can is scheduled to be delivered for installation this morning. Following pyro can installation, the MPS (Main Propulsion System) purge lines will be re-installed and a final inspection and cleaning of the umbilical will be performed before mate. Updates from last nights work will be presented to the Program today.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>UPDATE: As expected the Program passed the repair as acceptable for flight, allowing operations to press ahead with the rollout to Pad 39A on Tuesday \u2013 scheduled for just after midnight. Atlantis is expected to arrive at the pad just after dawn.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018S0004 Orbiter\/ET Mate: LO2 side flight strut installation was completed last night. S0008 Shuttle Interface Test Call-to-Stations is scheduled for 2300 EDT Friday. A5214 Space Shuttle Transfer to Pad \u2013 the team is working toward rollout starting at 0001 EDT on Tuesday, September 2.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Only one or two days of contingency remains in the STS-125 flow. However, a number of recent flights have managed to keep to their scheduled launch dates with no contingency days remaining \u2013 and the current launch target for STS-125&nbsp;remains unaffected by the delay to rollout.<\/p>\n<p>UPDATE: However, the continued pressure relating to the payload flow for Atlantis has resulted in managers noting that STS-125\u2019s launch date is likely to slip to October 11 \u2013 article to follow.<\/p>\n<p><b><i><u>Endeavour STS-400\/126 Latest:<\/u><\/i><\/b> <\/p>\n<p>Only one engineering \u2018get well\u2019 is now being worked with the dual processing flow that is supporting STS-125 &nbsp;\u2013 relating to Endeavour\u2019s STS-400 Launch On Need (LON) requirement \u2013 namely the continuing work on the faulty O2 System 2 Pressure Transducer valve.<\/p>\n<p>Following the decision not to remove and replace the box containing the troublesome valve \u2013 which would have placed a large amount of strain on Endeavour\u2019s processing timelines \u2013 engineers have been working on installing a bypass \u2018jumper\u2019 tube in situ.<\/p>\n<p>This is set to take place on Friday, along with additional work relating to minor&nbsp;issues found in the related hardware.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Off Nominal O2 System 2 Pressure Transducer update: MO10W jumper tube operations are in work. An x-ray of the brazed joint indicated a failure, so the joint was cut, re-brazed, and x-rayed yesterday,\u2019 noted Thursday processing information. <\/p>\n<p>\u2018In addition, a small kink was found on the -052 tube near a clamp location. The tube will be R&amp;R\u00e2\u20ac\u2122d. As of 0550 EDT, the sling was above ET-129 and preparations were being made for attachment.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>The stack will be joined by Endeavour in the middle of September \u2013 pending a successful resolution to the O2 System 2 Pressure Transducer valve work, and the completion of closeouts ahead of rollover.<\/p>\n<p>Endeavour\u2019s flow is proceeding to plan, with work taking place on preparing the orbiter\u2019s landing gear for flight.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Wing Leading Edge (WLE) sensor system flight batteries installation was completed yesterday; end-to-end testing is scheduled for today,\u2019 added Thursday processing information. \u2018Aft structural leak test\/Orbiter compartment positive pressure test is scheduled for today.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Landing gear operations: MLG (Main Landing Gear) thermal barrier step &amp; gap and mylar pulls are scheduled for today and tomorrow.
