{"id":4172,"date":"2015-02-12T11:11:45","date_gmt":"2015-02-12T11:11:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wp-productionenv-bjg9h2g2bgg5b8aa.southeastasia-01.azurewebsites.net\/news\/chinas-lunar-probe-tests-orbit-for-moon-sampling\/"},"modified":"2015-02-12T11:11:45","modified_gmt":"2015-02-12T11:11:45","slug":"chinas-lunar-probe-tests-orbit-for-moon-sampling","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/starpath.global\/news\/chinas-lunar-probe-tests-orbit-for-moon-sampling\/","title":{"rendered":"China&#8217;s Lunar Probe Tests Orbit for Moon Sampling"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify; margin-bottom: 1em\">BEIJING, Feb. 8 (Xinhua) &#8212; The service module of China&#8217;s unmanned test lunar orbiter has finished tests of orbiting technologies needed in a future sampling mission on the Moon.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; margin-bottom: 1em\">The orbiter conducted three times of tests between Friday and Saturday to modulate the speed, height and orbit in a simulative moon sampling mission, according to a statement of the State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; margin-bottom: 1em\">Such technologies will possibly be used in the country&#8217;s next lunar probe mission, Chang&#8217;e-5.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; margin-bottom: 1em\">The Chang&#8217;e-5 probe, expected for launch in 2017, will be tasked with landing on the moon, collecting samples and returning to Earth.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; margin-bottom: 1em\">The current lunar orbiter was launched on Oct. 24, 2014.
