Comment: 4 ROIs found. <br \/><em>**Above image has been deemed to be bird poo**<\/em><br \/><em><u>Main article:<\/u><\/em><\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">The largest area of foam liberation \u2013 although nothing even close to that seen shedding from the PAL ramp on STS-114\u2019s ET-121 \u2013 is missing TPS (Thermal Protection System) foam, forward of an Ice\/Frost ramp at location xt 1269 on the tank. <\/font><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">Photography shows that the closeout area where the PAL ramp was removed from the tank suffered no damage or liberation. Importantly, the modified Ice\/Frost ramps also remained intact \u2013 despite fears from some sectors of NASA, prior to flight. <\/font><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">Currently classed as \u2018possible missing TPS\u2019&nbsp;\u2013 potential shedding&nbsp;can be seen in another image, showing what appears to be a white patch \u2013 consistent with foam loss \u2013 on the Y Side of the LO2 feedline. This area is very small and just visible on the photography.<\/p>\n<p>A very high resolution image, showing the tank after it was separated from Discovery, shows very little damage on the tank overall. Some areas below the Bi-Pod ramp show signs of \u2018popcorning\u2019 although that is inconclusive and not proven by the documentation surrounding the images. Also, images of the area prior to launch show similar patterns and \u2018pits\u2019.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"137\" alt=\"\" hspace=\"5\" src=\"http:\/\/forum.nasaspaceflight.com\/forums\/get-attachment.asp?action=view&amp;attachmentid=7816\" width=\"210\" align=\"left\" vspace=\"5\" border=\"0\">One of the latest images to be acquired is from camera ORU130, tagged \u2018First Umbilical Well Image \u2013 Missing TPS and Ablation.\u2019 This image shows two areas of foam loss. It is neither noted nor worth guessing how large the liberation was.<\/p>\n<p>Discovery is currently carrying out inspection of her TPS (Thermal Protection System) via the use of the 50-foot Orbital Boom Sensor System (OBSS). This inspection will be used to confirm the orbiter did not suffer damage from foam strikes during ascent.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"150\" alt=\"\" hspace=\"5\" src=\"http:\/\/forum.nasaspaceflight.com\/forums\/get-attachment.asp?action=view&amp;attachmentid=7817\" width=\"200\" align=\"left\" vspace=\"5\" border=\"0\">It is currently known that one strike did occur \u2013 as seen in video footage from the ET camera \u2013 during ascent, although NASA has noted they aren\u2019t concerned about potential damage, given the strike occurred in the late stages of ascent.<\/p>\n<p><\/font><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Arial\"><font size=\"2\"><em>Article shows cropped and reduced images.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><\/font><\/font><em><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">**FREE VIDEOS**<\/font><\/em><em><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">&nbsp;\u2013&nbsp;<\/font><\/em><font face=\"Arial\"><font size=\"2\">&nbsp;Five videos of the debris events.
