Instead it will be jettisoned off the P6 truss of the International Space Station (ISS) during STS-118\u2019s mission, via a spacewalk \u2013 sources note.  <\/p>\n<p>  While NASA have so far being unable to confirm or deny the information, it is understood the jettison will take place due to it obstructing the relocation of the truss segment it currently occupies.\n<\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\"><font color=\"#ff0000\"><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\"><em><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"90\" alt=\"\" hspace=\"5\" src=\"http:\/\/content.nasaspaceflight.com\/library\/1016\/logo2_1bk.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" width=\"182\" align=\"right\" vspace=\"5\" border=\"0\"><\/em><\/font><font face=\"Arial\"><em><font size=\"2\">L2, for&nbsp;expanded documents and insider information covering the&nbsp;space programs at work. To join L2, click the advert \u2014&gt;<br \/><\/font><\/em><\/font><\/font><br \/>The EAS consists of two nitrogen tanks that provide compressed gaseous nitrogen to pressurize the ammonia tank and replenish it, as needed, in the thermal control subsystems of the Station. It also contains additional stocks of ammonia for American Early External Ammoniac Thermal Control System (EEATCS). <\/font><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\"><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"88\" alt=\"\" hspace=\"5\" src=\"http:\/\/logo.cafepress.com\/3\/4811501.1268853.jpg\" width=\"150\" align=\"left\" vspace=\"5\" border=\"0\"><\/font>The 680kg tank was launched on STS-105 with Discovery in August, 2001 \u2013 and installed by astronauts Daniel Barry and Patrick Forrester during two spacewalks. <\/font><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">\u2018The purpose of the Early Ammonia Servicer is just to leave the station in a little bit better configuration than it is right now,\u2019 said Forrester in his pre-mission profile on nasa.gov.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Ammonia is used as a coolant throughout the space station, and in the future, if we should develop a leak, the Early Ammonia Servicer provides the opportunity, once that leak is found and repaired, to re-service the system with ammonia.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">\u2018This particular Ammonia Servicer will be used until such time as the ammonia is depleted, and it can be returned to Earth, re-serviced and brought back up on a later mission.\u2019 <\/p>\n<p><font size=\"2\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"128\" alt=\"\" hspace=\"5\" src=\"http:\/\/forum.nasaspaceflight.com\/forums\/get-attachment.asp?action=view&amp;attachmentid=4983\" width=\"130\" align=\"left\" vspace=\"5\" border=\"0\"><\/font><em><font color=\"#ff0000\"><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">STS-121 Mission T-Shirt.
