Full range can be viewed by clicking the image on the right.<\/em><\/font><\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">The production of the satellites is being driven by demand from companies such as DigitalGlobe and GeoEye, with customers ranging from commerical to military applications. 97 of the systems will be in production over the next five years.<\/font>  <\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">The market is finding customers in various markets, such as urban planning and development, search-and-rescue operation, track endangered species and to help protect the Earth\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s natural resources. <\/font><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">John Edwards, of the \u2018The Market for Civil &amp; Commercial Remote Sensing Satellites\u2019 study, noted that the American commercial remote sensing market is headed toward a period of stability thanks to the acquisition of Space Imaging by Orbimage, now known as GeoEye. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"120\" alt=\"Get Any Game FREE with GamePass\" hspace=\"5\" src=\"http:\/\/www.afcyhf.com\/image-1911168-10413966\" width=\"120\" align=\"left\" vspace=\"5\" border=\"0\" hasbox=\"2\">\u2018The narrowing of the field from three down to two should take a burden off the US government, as ensuring adequate support to all three US players had been problematic,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d said Edwards. <\/font><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Leaning on this government support, US remote sensing operators now seem content to court government business almost exclusively, as there is much less emphasis on development of the commercial base. A rebound toward the commercial side is anticipated but it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s not expected for at least another five years or more.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>The study claimed that through 2009 an average of 19 spacecraft per year will be produced, most of which will be designated for Low Earth Orbit (LEO). 19 such systems are&nbsp;planned for this year, followed by 23 in 2007 and 25 in 2008. <\/font><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\"><font color=\"#ff0000\"><em><font face=\"Arial\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"90\" alt=\"\" hspace=\"5\" src=\"http:\/\/content.nasaspaceflight.com\/library\/1016\/logo2_1bk.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" width=\"182\" align=\"right\" vspace=\"5\" border=\"0\"><\/font><\/em><\/font>The value of annual LEO satellite production during the first half of the forecast period will range between $848 million at the low end and $3.2 billion at the high end. The study also noted the production of the eight geostationary Earth-orbiting (GEO) spacecraft \u2013 valuing at approximately $1.4 billion. <\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153India\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s production plans for remote sensing satellites are ambitious and unrivalled,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Edwards added on the expansion of ISRO\u2019s plans.
