The most probable cause of the oxidizer supply interruption was a foreign particle that blocked a nozzle of the booster hydraulic pump.  <\/p>\n<p>  The amount of time it will take to undergo corrective action will ultimately postpone the May 17th launch from the Baikonur Cosmodrome of the Hot Bird 8 satellite.<br \/>\n<font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\"><em><font color=\"#ff0000\">  <\/font><\/em><\/font><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\"><em><font color=\"#ff0000\"><em><font color=\"#ff0000\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"90\" alt=\"\" hspace=\"5\" src=\"http:\/\/content.nasaspaceflight.com\/library\/1016\/AdBanners\/storelogo3.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" width=\"182\" align=\"left\" vspace=\"5\" border=\"0\"><\/font><\/em><\/font><\/em><\/font><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\"><em><font color=\"#ff0000\">  <\/p>\n<p>&lt;\u2014**New stock in-store now. Show your support for manned space flight and support this site at the same time**<\/p>\n<p><\/font><\/em>\u2018The commission concluded that an anomaly in the oxidizer supply system caused the Breeze M upper stage main engine to shut down prematurely,\u2019 noted an International Launch Services (ILS) press release. <\/p>\n<p>\u2018Based on telemetry data, the most probable cause of the oxidizer supply interruption was a foreign particle that blocked a nozzle of the booster hydraulic pump, the commission stated.\u2019<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">Flight operations should be able to resume after corrective actions have been implemented, the commission stated, with implementation of such steps is expected by the end of May.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"60\" alt=\"\" hspace=\"5\" src=\"http:\/\/www.awltovhc.com\/image-1911168-10420838\" width=\"120\" align=\"right\" vspace=\"5\" border=\"0\">The commission noted the Proton M first stage concluded its role successfully, but at 5,536 seconds after lift-off, during the second burn of the Breeze M, an unplanned main engine shutdown occurred. <\/font><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">\u2018In accordance with standard procedures, the flight control system produced an emergency command, and at 5,541 seconds after lift-off the spacecraft was separated from the upper stage, into an orbit of 51.5 degrees inclination, 14,679 km apogee altitude and 506 km perigee altitude,\u2019 added the commission.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">\u2018The State Commission reviewed all possible failure scenarios based on telemetry data received from the Breeze M upper stage. To verify possible scenarios, various units have been tested in test stands, including test firing of the main engine. <\/font><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">\u2018The commission is developing corrective actions for additional inspection of the Breeze M and Breeze KM main engines, which are of the same type, to prevent recurrence of similar anomalies.\u2019<br \/><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"60\" alt=\"\" hspace=\"5\" src=\"http:\/\/www.lduhtrp.net\/image-1911168-10415279\" width=\"120\" align=\"left\" vspace=\"5\" border=\"0\"><\/font><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"60\" alt=\"\" hspace=\"10\" src=\"http:\/\/www.awltovhc.com\/image-1911168-10419894\" width=\"120\" align=\"right\" vspace=\"10\" border=\"0\"><br \/>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;<em><u>LIVE&nbsp;UPDATE PAGES<br \/><\/u><\/em><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\"><br \/><\/font><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\"><\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\"><\/p>\n<p>Concurrently, the ILS Failure Review Oversight Board will commence a series of meetings in Moscow.
