NASA\u2019s Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) has awarded a $500 million contract to Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. in a deal relevant to the development of the new Crew Exploration Vehicle (CEV). <\/p>\n
Although the money will come from NASA\u2019s budget \u2013 rather than from the $2.1 billion MSFC coffers \u2013 the deal will see Jacobs provide engineering, science and technical services to MSFC, based in Huntsville, Alabama.\n<\/p>\n
The deal consists of a one year base period, beginning in October \u2013 with four one-year options.<\/font> <\/font><\/p>\n Jacobs is providing services across a wide range of engineering, technical, science, propulsion, program management, and business disciplines, including support to major NASA programs such as the Space Shuttle and the International Space Station. Through three predecessor contracts, Jacobs has provided continuous support to NASA MSFC since 1989.<\/font> <\/font><\/p>\n \u201cWe are very happy to be involved in this next stage of operations, as NASA looks forward to the next stage of the Vision for Space Exploration,\u201d said a Jacobs spokesman.<\/font> <\/font><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Jacobs received NASA\u2019s 2002 George M. Low Award \u2013 the agency\u2019s premier quality and performance award for contractors \u2013 for work at MSFC. The company has also won NASA MSFC\u2019s Contractor Excellence Award four times. <\/p>\n The Jacobs team supporting NASA MSFC under the new contract includes seven major subcontractors: All Points Logistics (Gainesville, Ga.); Allied Aerospace Industries, Inc. (Norfolk, Va.); ERC, Inc.
