Telenor IoT is part of the <strong>Telenor Group<\/strong>, one of the largest telcos In the Nordic region. The partnership aims to enable global, resilient IoT solutions that combine terrestrial mobile coverage and satellite connectivity. Sateliot announced the deal, May 28.<\/p>\n<p>The two companies hope to enable a number of new use cases in fields such as agriculture, maritime, transport and logistics, energy and utilities, energy and utilities and environment and wildlife. Sateliot and Telenor IoT said successful field tests in Spain showed that Telenor IoT SIM cards can stay connected to Sateliot\u2019s satellite network for extended periods, proving reliable and secure connectivity. The alliance will continue to expand with tests in several countries.<\/p>\n<p>Sateliot\u2019s technology is one of the first satellite networks built to work seamlessly with the standard NB\u2011IoT devices that companies also use on the ground. Sateliot\u2019s LEO satellites follow the 3GPP Release 17 5G non\u2011terrestrial network (NTN) standard. This enables devices to connect to satellites without any modifications, custom antennas, or special firmware (provided the devices support this 3GPP release).
