{"id":47355,"date":"2026-03-17T17:16:33","date_gmt":"2026-03-17T09:16:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wp-productionenv-bjg9h2g2bgg5b8aa.southeastasia-01.azurewebsites.net\/news\/nvidia-launches-new-chips-for-space-missions\/"},"modified":"2026-03-17T17:16:33","modified_gmt":"2026-03-17T09:16:33","slug":"nvidia-launches-new-chips-for-space-missions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/starpath.global\/news\/nvidia-launches-new-chips-for-space-missions\/","title":{"rendered":"Nvidia Launches New Chips for Space Missions"},"content":{"rendered":"<\/p>\n<p>Computing giant <b>Nvidia<\/b> announced new chips for space missions on Monday, geared toward applications like orbital data centers, geospatial intelligence and autonomous space operations.<\/p>\n<p>A number of space companies \u2014&nbsp;<strong>Aetherflux<\/strong>, <strong>Axiom Space<\/strong>, <strong>Kepler Communications<\/strong>, <strong>Planet Sophia Space<\/strong>, and <strong>Starcloud<\/strong> are working with Nvidia to power their missions.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Nvidia announced Monday during its GTC 2026 event that the Space-1 Vera Rubin Module is its new accelerated platform for space. Nvidia called it \u201cdata-center-class AI at scale,\u201d to enable large language models and advanced foundation models to operate directly in space.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Separately, both the IGX Thor and Jetson Orin platforms deliver energy-efficient, high-performance AI inference, image sensing and accelerated data processing for edge computing on orbit in a compact module.<\/p>\n<p>Nvidia CEO and founder Jensen Huang called space computing \u201cthe final frontier.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs we deploy satellite constellations and explore deeper into space, intelligence must live wherever data is generated,\u201d Huang said. \u201cAI processing across space and ground systems enables real-time sensing, decision-making and autonomy, transforming orbital data centers into instruments of discovery and spacecraft into self-navigating systems.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Aetherflux plans to work with Nvidia to use the Space-1 Vera Rubin Module toward its goal of deploying satellite constellations to serve as hubs for AI compute in orbit.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt Aetherflux, we\u2019re pioneering a new paradigm for power and compute in space. Nvidia Space-1 Vera Rubin Module delivers high-performance, energy-efficient AI at the edge in orbit, powered by solar energy.
