The mission will be launched aboard Isar Aerospace\u2019s \u2018Spectrum\u2019 launch vehicle from the company\u2019s dedicated launch site at And\u00f8ya Space. Isar Aerospace announced details of the mission, March 16.<\/p>\n<p>The \u2018ELSA-M IOD\u2019 launch will mark a key step towards commercial in\u2010orbit servicing. As Isar Aerospace\u2019s first end-of-life mission, it aims to demonstrate the company\u2019s ability to target specific orbits required for a rendezvous mission, meeting the unique requirements of customers worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018ELSA-M\u2019 will be one of the world\u2019s first commercial end-of-life services for prepared satellites, meaning satellites designed with technologies such as an interface that will enable docking and removal. Majority self-funded, Astroscale\u2019s \u2018ELSA-M\u2019 mission is supported by the <strong>UK Space Agency<\/strong> (UKSA) through the <strong>European Space Agency<\/strong> (ESA)\u2019s program of Advanced Research in Telecommunications Systems (ARTES) as part of the Sunrise Partnership Project, a public\u2013private partnership between ESA and <strong>Eutelsat<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Isar Aerospace\u2019s \u2018Spectrum\u2018 launcher is designed, built, and operated entirely in-house, utilizing a high degree of automation. This approach enables the company to scale manufacturing and as it looks to meet global demand.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are thrilled to partner with Astroscale.
