Slingshot Aerospace <\/b>has named a new chief of AI and Data Science, hiring Adrian Thompson, an engineering leader with experience at companies like Waymo<\/b>, Uber<\/b>\u2018s Advanced Technologies Group, and L3 Technologies<\/b>. <\/p>\n
Thompson is tasked with overseeing Slingshot\u2019s AI strategy and development, integrating the company\u2019s AI foundation across its data, analytics, and modeling products.<\/p>\n
Slingshot Aerospace builds AI-powered solutions for space domain awareness, space traffic coordination, and space modeling and simulation, including the Agatha AI tool, which won the Via Satellite Technology of the Year Award for 2024. <\/p>\n
In his previous roles, he has experience leading global engineering teams in autonomy, intelligent systems, sensing, verification and validation, and large-scale testing. He previously worked on systems engineering and testing for autonomous vehicles at Uber\u2019s Advanced Technologies Group, and most recently was with TuSimple where he served as vice president of systems and safety engineering. <\/p>\n
