Kymeta<\/b> has been selected as a multi-orbit satellite communications capability provider in the U.S. Army\u2019s Next Generation Command and Control (NGC2) pilot with its Osprey u8 terminal. NGC2 is an Army command and control (C2) modernization effort to deliver a technology stack to commanders including transport, infrastructure, data, and applications.<\/p>\n
Kymeta\u2019s u8 terminal provides multi-orbit connectivity across both Geostationary Orbit (GEO) and Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite constellations, with the ability to receive and transmit data from a single aperture. The Osprey u8 terminal was designed for military use and enables communications on-the-move (COTM) and over the horizon, to support multiple data pathways and minimize dependency on a single source of communications.<\/p>\n
Kymeta said in a Monday announcement that the U.S. Army assessments including \u2018Armored Formation Network On The Move,\u2019 \u2018Network Modernization Experiment (NETMODX),\u2019 and \u2018Project Convergence Capstone\u2019 informed the decision to select Kymeta\u2019s technology.<\/p>\n
Retired U.S. Marine Corps Lt. Col. Tom Jackson, who serves as executive vice president and chief revenue officer (CRO) of Kymeta, commented on the importance of resilient, secure communications for military missions. <\/p>\n
