Under the contract, Redwire is eligible to receive task orders for biotechnology facilities, on-orbit operations support, mission integration, and related services on the ISS.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Redwire announced the IDIQ on Aug. 28, which has a duration of five years. The company will manage, integrate, and facilitate experiments and support on-orbit operations for NASA-funded research investigations aboard the ISS.<\/p>\n<p>Redwire recently received a $2.5 million task order under this contract to support drug development investigations on the ISS using its PIL-BOX technology. Redwire\u2019s PIL-BOX technology is a pharmaceutical lab designed for space. The company has flown 28 PIL-BOX systems in space, and has crystalized 17 compounds on the ISS, including insulin.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRedwire\u2019s biotechnology facilities have been an integral part of NASA\u2019s ISS research strategy, supporting an increased throughput of critical scientific research and expanding on-orbit capabilities to accommodate cutting-edge science in drug development, cancer research, and tissue engineering,\u201d said John Vellinger, president of Redwire In-Space Industries.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NASA awarded Redwire a single award, indefinite-delivery\/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract with a $25 million ceiling for biotechnology support on the International Space Station.
