The broadcaster announced the deal on Monday, stating it would use capacity on the SES-6 satellite, located at 40.5 degrees West, to provide HD channels to over 600,000 TV households across Brazil.<\/p>\n<p>Mileto said the agreement will support its recent acquisition of infrastructure and subscribers from Oi TV, one of Brazil\u2019s largest satellite pay-TV services.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA key part of the success of our Oi TV acquisition was the partnership with SES and knowing they would be able to seamlessly transition all existing subscribers without any impact to the customer experience,\u201d Mileto CEO Roberto Guenzburger said in the announcement. \u201cThe reliability and performance of SES\u2019s service ensures we can reach customers in any corner of Brazil and deliver the high-quality content they demand.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis new agreement with Mileto underscores the continued value of satellite for pay-TV distribution, with its ability to cost-effectively deliver a wide range of high-quality content to viewers across large geographic areas, whether urban, rural or remote,\u201d added Deepak Mathur, global head of Media at SES. \u201cWe look forward to partnering with Mileto in the coming years to grow their base of subscribers across Brazil while delivering news, sports and entertainment in the best image quality.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Satellite operator SES signed a new capacity agreement with Brazilian DTH pay-TV provider Mileto Tecnologia.
