Rocket Lab<\/b> launched its Electron rocket, deploying five satellites for Kin\u00e9is<\/b>, a French IoT constellation operator.<\/p>\n
The \u201cHigh Five\u201d mission lifted off from Rocket Lab Launch Complex 1 in Mahia, New Zealand at 9:30 p.m. EST on March 17, deploying five satellites to Low-Earth Orbit (LEO). The mission completed a five-launch deal, deploying Kin\u00e9is\u2019 25-satellite constellation in less than a year after starting the launch campaign in June of last year. <\/p>\n
Rocket Lab founder and CEO Peter Beck said: \u201cWe\u2019ve deployed Kin\u00e9is\u2019 mission in under a year and with 100% dedicated launches where they have been able to select launch site, date, and orbital parameters allowing them to maximize coverage for each of their 25 spacecraft. We\u2019re proud to have enabled a more connected world through Kin\u00e9is\u2019 IoT spacecraft and look forward to seeing all the data and insights the constellation provides.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Kin\u00e9is constellation aims to connect and locate objects worldwide, enabling data transmission in near-real time. It supports applications such as fire detection, water resource management, infrastructure and energy network monitoring, and logistics tracking.<\/p>\n
Chairman of Kin\u00e9is supervisory board, Christope Vassal said the company will begin commercial services on June 1. <\/p>\n
\u201cThis achievement marks the beginning of a new era for Kin\u00e9is, where the data collected by our constellation will unlock numerous opportunities for our clients and partners,\u201d Vassal said. <\/p>\n
