Comtech Telecommunications <\/b>launched the company\u2019s new Elevate 2.0 multi-orbit satcom platform, the company announced on Feb. 26.<\/p>\n
The system builds upon Comtech\u2019s experience in multi-orbit very small aperture terminal (VSAT) products and satcom ground systems development. Elevate 2.0 is designed to provide global connectivity across various satellite orbits using a single, compact platform.<\/p>\n
Elevate 2.0\u2019s software-defined network architecture is designed to allow users to roam across different satellite networks, including very high throughput Satellites (VHTS), Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) constellations, Geostationary Earth Orbit (GEO) networks, or any other constellation with a single low size, weight, and power (SWaP) platform. <\/p>\n
Comtech said the platform offers several operational advantages. Its disaggregated architecture combines low-cost hardware processing at teleports with centralized packet processing in data centers. Comtech claims the platform can deliver up to triple the bandwidth and eight times the processing density of Comtech\u2019s previous VSAT model. <\/p>\n
Security is enhanced through a zero-trust architecture with authentication and encryption. The software-defined nature allows for real-time upgrades. Additionally, the platform features compact terminals and portable gateways.<\/p>\n
