Eutelsat said in a statement that the outage was caused by \u201ca software issue within the ground segment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The 2024 leap year \u201cseems to be the most likely cause\u201d for the issue, Joanna Darlington, Eutelsat chief communications and investor relations officer, said in a statement to <i>Via Satellite<\/i>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Eutelsat confirmed the constellation is operating nominally again. Darlington told <em>Via Satellite<\/em> will carry out a full investigation into the outage.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEutelsat was fully mobilized and worked with the vendor to restore full service, while maintaining a constant dialogue with affected customers,\u201d the company said.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Eutelsat owns the OneWeb LEO constellation, which has more than 630 satellites in LEO.
