The milestone marks a major step forward in proving that phased array ground stations are now ready for commercial deployment. The Edinburgh-based business, part of the pan-European Celestia group, has started building pre-production units of the world\u2019s first multi-beam Ka-band gateway following the successful extended testing of the system with JoeySat, validating the gateway\u2019s ability to communicate reliably with spacecraft over a nine month period.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWith the green light to move ahead, our teams have already started work on the first preproduction units of the&nbsp;<\/em><em>Ka-band gateway<\/em><em>, showing that the era of electronically steered gateways has now arrived,\u201d <strong><\/strong>says<strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/em><em><strong>Dr Malachy Devlin<\/strong><\/em><em><strong>, CEO of Celestia UK<\/strong>.
