{"id":50227,"date":"2024-10-31T22:22:09","date_gmt":"2024-10-31T14:22:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wp-productionenv-bjg9h2g2bgg5b8aa.southeastasia-01.azurewebsites.net\/news\/impulse-space-starfish-space-and-cognitive-space-win-nro-balista-contracts\/"},"modified":"2024-10-31T22:22:09","modified_gmt":"2024-10-31T14:22:09","slug":"impulse-space-starfish-space-and-cognitive-space-win-nro-balista-contracts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/starpath.global\/news\/impulse-space-starfish-space-and-cognitive-space-win-nro-balista-contracts\/","title":{"rendered":"Impulse Space, Starfish Space, and Cognitive Space Win NRO BALISTA Contracts"},"content":{"rendered":"<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>National Reconnaissance Office<\/strong> (NRO) said on Wednesday that its Office of Space Launch (OSL) has awarded Broad Agency Announcements for Agile Launch Innovation and Strategic Technology Advancement (BALISTA) contracts to Houston\u2019s&nbsp;<strong>Cognitive Space<\/strong>, Redondo Beach, Calif.\u2019s&nbsp;<strong>Impulse Space<\/strong>, and Seattle\u2019s&nbsp;<strong>Starfish Space<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn March 2024, OSL released the BALISTA BAA which included areas of interest of in-space mobility and maneuver, on-orbit logistics and sustainability, mission acceleration, artificial intelligence for ground operations, and spacecraft propellant particle count,\u201d NRO said.<\/p>\n<p>BALISTA represents the first BAA contracts awarded by OSL\u2013contracts that \u201care smaller in scope and will assess emerging providers and capabilities,\u201d the agency said. \u201cThey are intended to demonstrate new mission capabilities that directly solve critical intelligence problems or address technology needs of interest.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>OSL Director Col.
