Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The companies say this wil provide nationwide coverage in the countries covered, which is not currently possible with terrestrial infrastructure. The agreement covers an area with a total population of approximately 383 million people, including approximately 200 million people the World Bank estimates are still not connected to the internet.<\/p>\n<p>Vrio is working to bridge the technology gap and the digital divide in Latin America with this agreement, Vrio President Dar\u00edo Werthein commented.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cProviding internet access across the region ensures the development of communities; and that is a commitment for our company,\u201d Werthein said in a release. \u201cWe look forward to bringing the benefits of affordable internet access and connectivity to more communities to reach further with a service that will revolutionize the way people connect.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Amazon\u2019s Kuiper satellite constellation will provide connectivity in Latin America through a new deal with Vrio Corporation, the parent company of DirecTV Latin America and Sky Brasil.
