Mynaric previously participated in Phase 0 and Phase 1 of the program.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Space-BACN is a U.S. Department of Defense program to foster interoperable technologies that can enable seamless communication between government and commercial Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite constellations.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In Phase 0 and Phase 1, Mynaric designed and created a benchtop model of a next-generation optical communications terminal. As part of the the 20-month Phase 2 program, Mynaric will look to build a scalable, reconfigurable optical communications terminal.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur engineering team designs new products with manufacturability in mind which aligns with the core goal of the Space-BACN program,\u201d said Joachim Horwath, Chief Technology Officer of Mynaric. \u201cOur team is ready to build on the progress of the initial phases to develop an optical terminal that is scalable and interoperable without compromising its performance.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mybronics is also building an optical communications terminal for Space-BACN Phase 2.&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mynaric will participate in Phase 2 of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Space-BACN program, the company announced Tuesday.
