{"id":5301,"date":"2012-10-15T09:33:17","date_gmt":"2012-10-15T01:33:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wp-productionenv-bjg9h2g2bgg5b8aa.southeastasia-01.azurewebsites.net\/news\/vrss-1-beams-back-first-images\/"},"modified":"2012-10-15T09:33:17","modified_gmt":"2012-10-15T01:33:17","slug":"vrss-1-beams-back-first-images","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/starpath.global\/news\/vrss-1-beams-back-first-images\/","title":{"rendered":"VRSS-1 Beams Back First Images"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>BEIJING, Oct. 12 (China Space News) \u2014 The Venezuelan satellite VRSS-1 captured its first picture of Venezuela on Sept. 30 and sent the image back to Earth the next day. <\/p>\n<p>VRSS-1 was launched on a Long March-2D carrier rocket on Sept. 29 from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in China. <\/p>\n<p>The satellite contains two panchromatic multispectral cameras and two wide-coverage cameras, which were both developed by an institute of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC). <\/p>\n<p>According to CASC, the multispectral cameras onboard are superior to other domestic and foreign cameras of the same type in spectral band, coverage, dynamic range, and size. <\/p>\n<p>The images beamed back by VRSS-1 will be used to help Venezuela&#8217;s land resources inspections, environmental protection, disaster detection and urban planning.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BEIJING, Oct. 12 (China Space News) \u2014 The Venezuelan satellite VRSS-1 captured its first picture of Venezuela on Sept. 30 and sent the image back to Earth the next day.
