According to a Monday announcement, IEC Telecom plans to use Rivada\u2019s future OuterNET satellite service for the humanitarian and maritime sectors. <\/p>\n
OuterNET is Rivada\u2019s planned network of Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites in a low latency point-to-point connectivity network. Last week, Rivada received a favorable decision from the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) to waive an upcoming deadline for its constellation deployment. <\/p>\n
IEC Telecom plans to leverage OuterNET to provide NGOs with better connectivity for the coordination of humanitarian efforts, the safety of remote workers, the security of NGO assets, and the sustainability of long-term operations. It also plans to offer land connectivity services and maritime communication infrastructure with OuterNET. This is not IEC Telecom\u2019s first LEO deal, the company is also a Starlink reseller. <\/p>\n
