{"id":5394,"date":"2011-08-16T16:10:27","date_gmt":"2011-08-16T08:10:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wp-productionenv-bjg9h2g2bgg5b8aa.southeastasia-01.azurewebsites.net\/news\/china-bolivia-launch-telecom-satellite-project\/"},"modified":"2011-08-16T16:10:27","modified_gmt":"2011-08-16T08:10:27","slug":"china-bolivia-launch-telecom-satellite-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/starpath.global\/news\/china-bolivia-launch-telecom-satellite-project\/","title":{"rendered":"China, Bolivia Launch Telecom Satellite Project"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>BEIJING, Aug. 16 (China Space News) \u2014 China and Bolivia jointly launched a communications satellite project that will be completed within three years on August 10. <\/p>\n<p>The construction of the Tupac Katari satellite, named after an 18th century indigenous hero who fought Bolivia&#8217;s Spanish colonizers, will benefit the Bolivian people, said Bolivian President Juan Evo Morales Ayma at the launching ceremony.<\/p>\n<p>According to the deal signed on Dec. 13, 2010 between the Bolivian state-run space agency and China Great Wall Industry Corporation, a subsidiary of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC), Bolivia will have its first communications satellite by the end of 2013 or the beginning of 2014.<\/p>\n<p>China will work to ensure the quality and high technology of the satellite and its supporting facilities to better serve Bolivia&#8217;s economic development and needs of its people, the CASC said.<\/p>\n<p>Once completed, the satellite will be launched at Xichang Satellite Launch Center in southwest China&#8217;s Sichuan Province and is expected to provide telecommunication services in Bolivia and support the country&#8217;s educational and medical initiatives.<\/p>\n<p>Source: Xinhua<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BEIJING, Aug. 16 (China Space News) \u2014 China and Bolivia jointly launched a communications satellite project that will be completed within three years on August 10.
