Maxar is now developing four Geostationary Orbit (GEO) satellites for SiriusXM, including SXM-9 and -10 ordered in 2021.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>SXM-11 and -12 will be twin high-powered digital audio radio satellites, built on Maxar\u2019s 1300-class platform at the company\u2019s manufacturing facilities in Palo Alto and San Jose, California. The companies did not provide an expected launch date.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Chris Johnson, Maxar\u2019s senior vice president of Space, said the satellites will provide more capability to SiriusXM\u2019s fleet, including an expanded service area and higher service quality.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis investment reaffirms our commitment to satellite content delivery systems and cutting-edge technology,\u201d said Bridget Neville, SiriusXM\u2019s senior vice president of Satellite and Terrestrial Engineering and Operations. \u201cSXM-11 and -12, along with SXM-9 and -10, will allow us to innovate and improve our service offerings for subscribers and will extend the continuous and reliable delivery of our audio entertainment content.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>SiriusXM is a longtime customer of Maxar\u2019s.
