SES<\/b> signed a multi-year capacity renewal with Claro Brasil<\/b> through Embratel<\/b> to support connectivity in at least eight cities with O3b mPOWER network.<\/p>\n
Embratel is the corporate solutions division of telco Claro Brasil. Under the renewal agreement announced Thursday, Embratel will have 4 Gbps over the O3b mPOWER network to extend its mobile backhaul service. It is estimated to serve more than 260,000 inhabitants of the eight cities in the Amazon region. <\/p>\n
SES said Embratel will also be able to support 5G networks with a solution that is scalable to multiple gigabits-per-second per location. <\/p>\n
Embratel continues to purchase more capacity from SES in recent years to fulfill the Brazilian National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) universal service requirements. SES will continue to serve other communities in the region with SES\u2019s Geostationary (GEO) satellite-delivered backhaul capacity.<\/p>\n
